This is a lot of 10, large, 13-1/2" by 16-1/2" handwritten documents from the New York, Lake Erie & Western Railroad Company. The documents are from a large ledger book of records of way bills for freight forwarded. They list the "bill to" for the shipment, the "consignor", the "destination", the "description" of the article, the "weight" and the "shipping charges". Documents are on yellow paper and are in very good condition - very clean - not brittle.

This is a 6" by 9" flyer, printed on one side only, for a Mexico City public lottery (flyer is mostly in English. The flyer was a loose insert in an 1890 magazine titled The Mexican Financier published in Mexico City. . Flyer is on colored paper and is very suitable for framing.

This is a handwritten letter from a Real Estate Agent in Richmond, Virginia (fairly uncommon to find real estate agent letterheads). The letterhead reads "Geo. H. Poindexter, Real Estate Agent, Broker, No. 1200 Main Street". Richmond, VA is identified next to the date. The letter is addressed to Minnie who was at "The Springs". Poindexter mentions he will be going to Culpeper later in the week. The letter is signed by George H. Poindexter. Letter is in very good condition - very clean - not brittle.

This is a lot of 2 items. They are an origial letter from Harper & Brothers in New York on their letterhead dated March 6th, 1900 to McDonnell Brothers in Chicago. The letter states that they are unable to provide 1899 Harper's Weekly magazines with uncut or untrimmed edges. The 2nd item is a letter dated March 8th, 1900 from McDonnell Brothers on their letterhead to their customer, James W. Ellsworth (in New York City), referencing the Harper's letter and stating that Harper's cannot supply what he was looking for. Both letters are in very good condition.

This is a lot of 3 Norfolk & Western Railway Company telegrams, all from 1902. They all have to do with Norfolk & Western acquiring the Hillsboro Railroad. Some of the names on the telegrams are: M. C. Jameson, L. E. Johnson, and Joseph I. Doran. All are in good condition - have a few edge chips - not brittle. they measure about 5-1/2" by 8-1/4".

This is a lot of 2 items. They are a 11" by 30" and a 11" by 20" drawing of jetty and dyke structures at Humbolt Harbor California. The drawings show 14 different structures identified as station numbers. The drawings were tipped in drawings from an 1893 US Government report from The Army Corps of Engineers to the Secretary of War. Drawings are in very good condition.

The photos are titled "Paradise Cut Dam, San Joaquin River, California - View From Above", and "Paradise Cut Dam, San Joaquin River, California - View From Below". Both are in good condition.

29052 1881 Jackson, MS Land Title Document w/Seals $10.00

This is an 8-1/2" by 11" document with an embossed seal of Holmes County, Mississippi and another of State Treasury of Mississippi (it has a 3rd embossed seal but I can't make it out). The document is dated at Jackson, Mississippi June, 7, 1881 and releases title of land to a 55 acre plot of land at Section 28, Township 14, Range 3Eat to J. D. Powers. The document is signed by Jas. T. Meade, Clerk Of Court and W. L. Hemmingway, State Treasurer. Document is in very good condition.


29222 1868 14x35" Color Chart Health & Liquor Stores $18.00

This is a 14" by 35" color chart titled "Diagram Showing the Influence of Liquor Stores on Public Health". The chart has 3 lines - one showing "ratio of liquor stores to population", one showing "ratio of deaths from cholera", and one showing "ratio of death by all causes". The chart is grouped by the 1st through the 22nd ward of New York City. Very good condition - suitable for framing. The chart is from a New York Medical Society report published in 1868.


30522 1900 5 Western Union Telegrams w/Stamps $28.00

This is a lot of five, Western Union telegrams from all from 1900 with 1 cent Documentary stamps dated 1898 showing a battleship (telegrams are dated 2/17, 1/11, 8/25, 1/24, and 4/4, 1900). All are in good condition. They all originated in Keezletown, VA and were sent to Strasburg, VA, Norfolk, VA, Baltimore, MD, Cumberland, MD, and Hot Springs, VA. On the rear of each telegram is printed Western Union's terms and conditions and limitations of liability. Each telegram has two small punch holes where they were filed.

Some of the alumni of the W. L. Evans School Of Cartooning included Chester Gould, Creator of Dick Tracy and E. C. Segar (Elzie Crisler Segar) creator of Popeye. All documents are in good condition.


33603 1884 Victorian Advertisng Bookmark $20.00

This is an advertising bookmark that was a loose insert in an 1884 British magazine (Backwoods) that announces the start of publication of the "Magazine Of Music" in London. The bookmark opens up and advertises a contest on the inside and a songbook with which you would receive a cabinet photo of Mozart. Bookmark measures 1-3/4" by 5-1/2" and opens to 1-3/4" by 11". It is in near perfect condition.


33736 1861 Vellum Indenture Philadelphia Milne/Fithian $24.00

This is an 23" by 17" partially handwritten vellum indenture. The handwritten portions are neat and clear and easy to read. It transfers property from Semuel S. Fithian, merchant, and his wife Anna C. of Philadelphia to David Milne of Philadelphia, PA. The property was located at the north side of Pine Street between 18th and 19th streets. The document is dated October 18, 1861. The document is in very good condition - well done and neatly written. Guaranteed to be authentic - suitable for framing.

This is a lot of 15 documents all containing an image of Readi Kilowatt . They are all Pennsylvania Power and Light Company bills and receipts and most are dated 1941 (3 are dated 1944). One has what appears to be an image of a Mrs. Ready Kilowatt wearing a bonnet and carrying a laundry basket while Ready Kilowatt sits at his desk. Another shows Ready Kilowatt in an old 1930's pickup truck. All are in good condition.

This is an unopened envelope of 50 gummed flag seals (48 star flags). The envelope is not opened but you can tell that the 50 flag seals are not stuck together. These are from the 1940's or earlier as they were found in a box of documents that were dated 1940 and earlier.

This is a Pennsylvania Railroad excursion ticket from Washington DC to Brooklyn New York. It is dated June 30, 1902 and is punched with an "L" punch. Good condition. The back is also stamped June 30, 1902 in blue ink.

This is a letter by the Oshkosh Overall Company "Oshkosh B'Gosh" with a logo of Uncle Sam and a small boy in Oshkosh overalls. Uncle Sam is in Red White and Blue and the letter is in very good condition - very clean - not brittle. The letter is dated March 15, 1930.

This is a check dated Dec. 23rd, 1882 to the F & J Heinz Co. . It has a 2 cent revenue stamp on the front. The check is drawn on the First National Bank of Williamsport, PA. F&J Heinz was owned by H. J. Heinz and his brother. It was the predecessor to the current day Heinz Foods Company. company Good Condition.


35084 1945 United Jewish Appeal Dissolution Booklet $10.00

This is a 6" by 9" 12 page booklet marked on the top "Not For Publication" and titled "The Dissolution Of The National Jewish Appeal" . The booklet gives reasons for the dissolution and states "On February 13, 1945, the Joint Distribution Committee was informed by the United Palestine Appeal that at a meeting of the UPA Executive Committee held February 12 it was voted not to renew the United Jewish Appeal for 1945. Very good condition.

This is a lot of 3, 1895 and 1896 Peerless Bicycle documents of communications (letters & receipt) to P. J. Fisher, a New York City bicycle Racer. All three are in very good condition - very clean - not brittle. The large letter with the logo is a communication to Fisher that Peerless is sending him 2 rams horn tandem handlebars and two tandem cones and cups.

This is a lot of 3, 1895 Peerless Bicycle documents of communications (letters & receipt) to P. J. Fisher, a New York City professional bicycle racer. All three are in very good condition - very clean - not brittle. The letter with the blue logo is a communication to Fisher that Peerless is sending him one diamond tandem without idler. The letter with the large "Peerless Manuf'g. Co. is a receipts for a pair of 7" cranks and extra heavy tandem forward posts sold to Fisher. The 3rd item is an itemized list of what Fisher owes Peerless.
