It is suitable for framing - printed one side only - no print on the reverse side. It is from an 1879 issue of The Graphic, an illustrated weekly magazine similar in size and format to Harper's Weekly Magazine and published in London.

The Albion newspaper published in New York. The paper has a very decorative masthead and is sub-titled the
British, Colonial And Foreign Weekly Gazette. The paper has a 1/2 column report titled "Pugilsm" that describes a match between Tommy Moore and John Anderson. The description of the fight is somewhat humorous and describes many of the 61 rounds of the fight. This is a small format newspaper that measure 10-1/2" by 15" and contains 8 pages. The paper is in good condition - not brittle - some foxing - from a bound volume.

Boston Daily Atlas newspaper published in Boston, Massachusetts. The paper has an interesting front page article about nine pin bowling. The article is titled "Nine Pins" and is an anecdote about nine pin bowling in the time of Frederick the Great. The paper is in very good condition - not brittle - very clean.

Turf, Field, and Farm newspaper, published in New York by Bruce & Simpson and devoted to the Turf (Horseracing) and Field Sports,Hunting, Fishing, Scientific and Practical Agriculture, Literature, Art and the Stage. It has an interesting report titled "Fishing In New Hampshire" about fishing at the Farm on William McCrillis in Sandwich, New Hampshire. The article describes McCrillis' farm as being bounded on the North and East by Whiteface Mountain, Black Mountain and Mt. Chocorua, and on the South by the Ossipee Mountains and the Gilmington Mountains. The paper has many horseracing, billiards and agricultural related articles with many illustrated sporting ads. Good condition - from a bound volume.

The paper has a 1/2 page article titled "Football Up To Date" that expresses the dangers of football and gives examples of youths that have been seriously injured playing the game. The article is pro-athletics but against football for children because of all the injuries. Paper is in good condition - rag paper - not brittle - some chips at spine - small binding marks at spine.

Illustrated American Magazine published in New York. The article is about a sport devleoped to allow the use of bicycles indoors in the winter months, the "Bicycle Gymkhana". The article describes the outfits worn, the course and some of the relay and skill games that are played on the bicycle. Some of the games mentioned are carrying an egg in a spoon, A relay picking up bouquets of flowers, picking off suspended rings with a short sword (a form of jousting, and an obstacle course. The article has 3 illustrations. Magazine is in good condition.

The Sporting Magazine published in London by J. Pittman. This is a very hard to find magazine in very good condition with original covers. It measures 6" by 9" and contains 135 pages and 4 full page engravings on heavy paper. The engravings are all sporting related and are titled :
- A. Cooper - he was apparently an artist
- Medora - racehorse
- Gulnare - racehorse
- South American Mule
. There are articles in the magazine related to each of the engravings. The following is a partial list of the content of the magazine:

The Democratic Press newspaper published in Philadelphia. It has an unusual illustrated Boxing ad for an exhibition of the art of pugilism by G. Kensett. This is quite early for an illustrated newspaper ad for boxing. Paper measures 14" by 20" and contains 4 pages. It has a stain in lower right corner and some minor roughness of spine - otherwise good condition.
