This is the February 1, 1896 issue of The Topsfield Townsman newspaper published in Topsfield, Massachusetts by F. E. Moynahan. It has a front page 4-1/2" by 5-1/2" map showing two proposed routes of the Haverhill & Danvers Electric Railway. The map shows the location of some houses and businesses from Danvers to Haverhill with one route going through Boxford and the other through East Boxford. Paper is in good condition - rag paper - not brittle - never bound.
This is a 13-1/2" by 20" color map of railroad track laid in 1888 an dearly 1889 and of track under construction. The map is of the northeastern US from Chicago to Maine and as far south as Richmond Virginia and Evansville, Indiana. The legend identifies track laid in 1888, Track Laid Since Jan. 1, 1889 (Jan. to Mar. 1889) , Lines Under Contract or Construction, Lines Surveyed or Under Survey, and Projects of Some Promise. The map was a supplement in the March 30, 1889 issue of "Engineering News and American Railway Journal" magazine . Map is printed on 1 side only and is suitable for framing - good condition - not brittle. The map is marked "Supplement to Engineering News - March 30, 1889" in upper left margin. Newly constructed railroad tracks are identified in red on the map.
