22964 1896 McKinley & Hobart For President/Illustrated $18.00
This is the June 19, 1896 issue of the New York Semi-Weekly Tribune newspaper. The paper measures 12" by 17" and contains 16 pages. It has a front page report about McKinley and Hobart being the Republican nominees for Presidsent and Vice President at the Republican Convention in St. Louis. The convention report takes up the entire front page and there are additional related reports on inside pages. The front page also has a large illustration of McKinley and there is a similar size illustration of Hobart on an inside page. Paper is in good condition - from a bound volume.
This is a lot of three items. They are the August 11, August 13, and August 14, 1866 issues of The Evening Telegraph newspaper published in Philadelphia. The papers each have a front page headline "WIGWAM" about the formation of a new political party - The National Union Party" that gives the charter of the party, officers, delegates, etc. These are long front page reports describing the new party. Papers are in good condition - sheets are separated at spine. The papers measure 15" by 20" and contain 8 pages each.
This is the October 13, 1827 issue of Niles' Weekly Register, a small, 6" by 9-1/2", 16 page, weekly newspaper published in Baltimore, MD by H. Niles. It has a long, 13 page report titled "Harrisburg Convention" that was about a meeting about improving the agriculture, manufacturing, commerce and internal improvements relating to trade of the United States. The report is by H., Niles (editor of the paper) who was also chairman of the convention. Paper is in good condition - not brittle - from a bound volume.
