Item# s311 Hanging Knife Scouring Box
Our 19th century reproduction hanging knife scouring box measures 11” high by 7-1/2" wide and is 3-1/2" deep.
In use, the scouring box contained a pumice or abrasive grit that was used to scour knives. The box was laid flat on a table and the knife
blade that required scouring was placed across the block in the center and the two sides. A cloth or cork was dipped in the pumice and used to scour the knife blade. When the
knife scouring was complete, the box was hung up allowing the pumice to fall back into the box to await the next use. It displays well hanging on a wall or sitting on a ledge or table.
