It has a 1-1/4 column letter from Commodore Chauncey to the Secretary of the Navy about a daring act by our soldiers in Presque'isle, Quebec, Canada in destroying a British ship that was under construction. The ship was with a few days of being completed and launched when US Navy Lt. Gregory, and sailors Vaughn and Dixon sailed to Nicholas Island where they hid until an appropriate time then went to Presque'isle and burned the ship that was under construction. It has a front page ad titled "A Safe Retreat From The Alarm of War" that is offering for sale the mansion of General Schuyler, the Revolutionary War general . The mansion was located about 1/2 mile south of the capitol in Albany, NY. Paper is in good condition - quite clean - not brittle - from a bound volume.
